The Legend Awards of the Golden Eye Festival were given out on Saturday Night in Kiscelli Museum.

This year's award-giving of the Golden Eye Festival was timed on the birthday of the 91-year-old György Illés in Kiscelli Museum. At the ceremony Francis Ford Coppola also congratulated to the lifetime-award winners: György Illés, János Tóth, Vilmos Zsigmond and László Kovács.

This year's Golden Eye Festival was elegant, spectacular but at the same time it had family-atmosphere. It was held on Saturday evening, cinematographers were given their awards in Kiscelli Museum . The event was again timed on the birthday of the now 91-year-old György Illés, thus expressing the forever lasting merit of the master of the Hungarian cinematographers' school in the Hungarian and international cinematographer successes. The international representatives of the profession also took part in the festival. An unexpected present of the evening was the appearance of Francis Ford Coppola, who arrived as Andy Vajna's personal guest and spent a short time with the awarded. The Hungarian Society of Cinematographers (HSC) gave out for the first time the newly established Legend Awards to the greatest persons of the profession. The guests present made an ovation when György Illés, János Tóth and from the US , Vilmos Zsigmond and László Kovács got their special acknowledgement. There were 121 films in 15 categories at the festival.The awarded got their prize on the basis of the HSC-members' votes. Among others Péter Szatmári, Sándor Kardos, Francisco Gozon, Dániel Garas, Tibor Nemes, András Nagy and Gyula Pados became awarded. The cinematographer of the year award went to Gergely Pohárnok. The $60 000-optical package-award of the Panavision was given to Katalin Mészáros, university student of directory.
