Cinematographer of the Year: Gergely Pohárnok

Gergely Pohárnok was awarded the prize 'Cinematographer of the Year' by the profession. The awards were chosen by the 185 voting members of the Hungarian Society of Cinematographers from around a hundred creators' 121 works and in 16 categories. At the festival organised for the second time on Saturday György Illés, János Tóth, László Kovács and Vilmos Zsigmond were given the Legend lifetime achievement award.

This year the HSC members chose from films made in 2004- 2005. In feature film category András Nagy ( A fény ösvényei/Paths of Light) was awarded , the p rize for the best student of the University of Theatre and Film Art went to Katalin Mészáros for her work, Laci.

Dániel Garas ( Máassar Fiyyi - Fadt Shaker ) proved to be the best in the category of movie clips, in the category of dramatised documentary Sándor Várkonyi ( Álomturné/Dreamfilm) was awarded . A kékszakállú herceg vára/Castle of the Blue-bearded brought success to Tibor Nemes in the category of musical films. HSC members also acknowledged Gyapjas pille - Hernyók a pokolból/Worms from Hell by Szabolcs Mosonyi .

Megasztár/Megastar brought success this time not only for its participants, but also for its cinematographer , Zsolt László in the competition of entertainment programmes. In the News category András Szobrász's Filmhíradó 51., in that of Public Culture Tamás Nemescsói's Jelenlét aranyban/Existence in Gold were the winners.

Among advertisements Zsolt Tóth's Törley , among TV films Péter Szatmári's A Nagy Könyv/The Great Book (recommendatory film based on the novel 1984 by Orwell) won the category prize. In the category of experimental films Sándor Kardos's Résfilm/Gapfilm, among short features Tamás Keményffy Most látszom, most nem látszom/Now You Can See Me, Now You Can't was awarded by the jury.

In the category of documentaries Amari Kris brought acknowledgement for its photographer, Francisco Gózon. Among co-productional/international feature films the best was Sorstalanság/Fateless by Gyula Pados.
